Surf Coast Shire Council is looking to fill three Early Childhood Educator opportunities to commence in Term One 2027:
- Early Childhood Educator at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten
- Early Childhood Bush Kinder Additional Assistant at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten
- Early Childhood Educator at Helen M Kininmonth Kindergarten (9-month maternity leave cover)

Position One - Early Childhood Educator at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten Hours
17.75 hours per week
14 hours contact time (as below)
plus 3.75 hours non-contact time

Wednesday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
Position Two - Early Childhood Bush Kinder Additional Assistant at Kurrambee Myaring Kindergarten Hours
17.25 hours per week
14.75 hours contact time (as below)
plus 2.5 hours non-contact time

Tuesday 8:30am to 11:30am (1 session)
Wednesday 9:00am to 12:00pm and 12:30pm to 3:30pm (2 sessions)
Friday 8:30am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 4:00pm (2 sessions)
Position Three - Early Childhood Educator at Helen M Kininmonth Kindergarten Hours
9-month maternity cover leave
19 hours per week
15 hours contact time (as below)
plus 4 hours non-contact time

Wednesday 12:15pm to 3:15pm plus planning
Thursday 8:45am to 2:45pm
Friday 8:45am to 2:45pm

What you will bring to the role
We are looking for Early Childhood Educators who are compassionate, dedicated and driven to making a positive impact on the lives of our local community members and their families.
To thrive in these role you will have:
- Knowledge of early childhood development and practice
- Knowledge of approved learning frameworks, National Quality Framework and national law and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Key selection criteria
Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements
- Minimum of a Certificate III in Children’s Services from an ACECQA approved training organisation
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families
- Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program in accordance with approved learning frameworks
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this impacts on daily practice
- Excellent skills in verbal and written communication with children, staff and the wider community
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff
- Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace
- Mandatory Reporting Training certificate completed annually
- Mandatory Child Safety training, both Foundation and Advanced
- A current level II First Aid qualification, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR.
