Job Description
Your new career This role sits within Council’s Engineering Design & Compliance team within the Assets and Engineering Department and is focused on the following tasks:
Supporting the Coordinator Engineering Services & Design
Undertaking concept and detailed design work for civil infrastructure including roadworks, pathways and drainage
Providing advice and information on engineering design matters
What you will bring to the role To be successful in this role you will have:
strong design skills
good understanding of civil infrastructure and standards
the ability to work in a multi-discipline team
a willingness to learn and contribute to the team
strong communication skills
Key selection criteria
Mandatory qualifications, experience and requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification (Qualification check conducted))
Experience in municipal or civil engineering field of minimum two years.
Experience in civil design.
Experience in Microsoft Office, Auto-CAD, Civil-Site & Civil- 3D.
Hold Professional Engineering Registration or have reasonable arrangements to obtain it.
Other mandatory requirements
Current Victorian driver’s licence
Construction site safety induction (white) card.
You have the Right to live and work in Australia.
A current WWCC
Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Experience in Local Government
Previous experience in a similar role with 2 years’ experience.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, recognised professional standards relating to traffic management and civil engineering.
