Job Description

Your new career
Join our high-performing Program Management Office (PMO) as a Senior Project Manager leading the planning and delivery of capital and operational projects across Council. You’ll partner with departments across the organisation to deliver meaningful infrastructure for our community—sustainably, safely, and on time.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex projects across civil, building, and open space infrastructure portfolios.
  • Providing expert advice on project governance, risk mitigation, and best practice frameworks.
  • Building trusted relationships with stakeholders, consultants and contractors to drive performance and successful project outcomes.

What you will bring to the role
You are seasoned project manager who can lead complex infrastructure projects with confidence, communicate with influence, and think strategically to navigate risk and deliver value.

Your background will likely include:

  • Experience delivering complex infrastructure or construction projects, ideally within or alongside local government.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and contract administration skills.
  • The ability to bring people together around shared goals and embed good project practice.


Key selection criteria
Qualifications, experience and requirements

  • Degree qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or substantial experience in building, civil infrastructure design, construction or engineering project / contractor management.
  • Proven experience in project management and contract management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management across complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and team skills, with the ability to manage contractors and staff, work independently and collaboratively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and build productive relationships across functions.
  • Strategic thinking and sound judgement, with demonstrated ability to solve problems and make quality decisions in a project delivery context.
  • Experience working in local government or similarly complex environments is desirable.
